HOW WILL A BRAINY CLASSROOM MODULE IMPROVE ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE?

  • With Breathing Zone air held at about 600 ppm CO2, both students’ and teachers’ cognitive function is optimized.
  • A Brainy Module will keep Students and Teachers breathing super-clean, HEPA -filtered fresh outdoor air that is maintained at about 600 parts per million CO2 in that particular classroom.
  • A carbon dioxide controller will constantly monitor indoor CO2 and instantly adjust the fresh air delivery rate up and down as necessary to maintain a constant 600 ppm in the classroom as students come and go.


HOW WILL A BRAINY CLASSROOM MODULE IMPROVE HEALTH AND REDUCE ABSENTEISM?

  • A Brainy Module HEPA Filter will remove 99.97% of outdoor health-impairing particles from the fresh air before it is delivered into the classroom breathing zone.
  • The Brainy HEPA filter will remove nearly all pollen, mold spores, PM2.5, viruses, bacteria, soot and smoke from the fresh air that will be inhaled by students and teachers.
  • The HEPA filter will become surprisingly radioactive from the capture of PM2.5 particles carrying radioactive and toxic heavy metal hitchhikers to keep them out of and prevent them from accumulating in students’ lungs, blood streams, hearts, bone marrow, and brains while they are in class.
  • An auxiliary breathing zone 99.97% HEPA air filtration device will remove particles generated indoors.


HOW WILL A BRAINY CLASSROOM MODULE BE CONTROLLED TO MAINTAIN A RELATIVELY CONSTANT INDOOR CO2 LEVEL OF ABOUT 600 PPM?

  • Brainy Module will be speed-controlled by a SmartVentilation CO2 controller that will deliver a control voltage to the Brainy module to maintain a breathing zone CO2 level of about 600 parts per million regardless of the occupant load up to about 35 occupants at classroom physical exertion levels.
  • When the classroom is unoccupied, the Brainy module will deliver minimal fresh air flow.
  • When the classroom becomes occupied, the Brainy system will immediately respond to increases in CO2 regardless of occupant load (up to 35) to maintain the target CO2 of about 600 ppm.

HOW WILL CLASSROOM TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY BE CONTROLLED WITH A BRAINY CLASSROOM RETROFIT?

  • A high-performance, variable heat ratio split HVAC system will be installed to dehumidify, heat and cool the classroom
  • The main school HVAC system will be disconnected from the Brainy retrofitted classroom
  • Only occupied classrooms will be subject to full temperature/humidity control


WHAT WILL BE THE SOURCE OF FUNDING FOR INSTALLATION OF BRAINY CLASSROOM MODULES AND SPLIT HVAC SYSTEMS?


HOW ARE BRAINY CLASSROOM MODULES INSTALLED?

  • A 6 inch round hole is located just below the tie beam midpoint on an exterior wall. A Blue Boar vacuum-attached wet diamond rig completes the penetration. The Brainy Module is secured to the wall with appropriate fasteners and low voltage wiring completed through the wall in accordance with code.
  • A makeup air distribution system of fabric or metal duct is attached or an appropriate wall-mount grill is installed to distribute MA near the ceiling.
  • A carbon dioxide controller is installed to deliver 0-10 control voltage to the Brainy module.
  • A low voltage power supply is installed in conformity with code.
